Laura Kraich Scott, PT, DPT, LSVT-cc

Dr. Scott and her husband Zac relocated to Arden, NC from the Greensboro area in 2018 to live closer to family and the mountains. She received her doctorate in physical therapy from East Carolina University and her specialty training in pelvic rehabilitation from the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Scott is a summa cum laude graduate of Oglethorpe Univ (Atlanta, GA) with a BA in International Studies and minors in Spanish and French language.
Dr. Scott began her physical therapy career with Performance Rehabilitation in Sanford, NC in an outpatient practice treating a wide variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions. While at Performance Rehabilitation, Laura received specialty training and credentials in the LSVT BIG method, working with people with mobility and balance problems due to Parkinson's Disease. Other unique populations included industrial rehabilitation as well as providing bilingual PT treatment to the Spanish-speaking patient. In Sanford, Dr. Scott became a member of the Jonesboro Rotary Club and enjoyed professional networking and community service.
Now serving the Asheville area with Cornerstone PT, Dr. Scott's current practice focuses on pelvic rehabilitation including bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction in women and men. As a pelvic specialist, Laura is passionate about providing evidence-based, compassionate and creative care for colorectal, urological, gynecological, obstetrical, orthopedic dysfunction of the pelvic floor and pelvic girdle across the lifespan. Laura's areas of special interests include the care of the pregnant patient and postpartum rehabilitation.
Dr. Scott enjoys incorporating her movement and training background into her pelvic and orthopedic treatments. Her first love is classical ballet with training background including Orlando Ballet, The Rock School of the PA Ballet (Philadelphia, PA) and the Kirov Academy (Washington DC) among others and including international and competition credits. Laura incorporates her prior career as ballroom dance instructor and pro-am as well as professional competitor with Fred Astaire Dance Studio (Durham, NC), Club Med Turkoise (Turks and Caicos Is) and Arthur Murray Dance Studio (Atlanta, GA).
Laura and her husband Zac welcomed their baby boy in 2019 at Mission Hospital. She and her family enjoy exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains and Asheville's cultural scene.
